Pittsburgh native choreographer Kyle Abraham is bringing his company Abraham.In.Motion to the Kelly-Strayhorn Theater for the world premiere of his latest work, “Live! The Realest MC” this weekend, Friday November 18 and Saturday November 19. Shows are happening at 8:00 p.m. Friday and Saturday, with a student matinee at 10:00 a.m. Friday.
According to the Post-Gazette, “Live!” is “inspired by a fabled character still longing for acceptance, Pinocchio, and concocts the wooden puppet’s quest to become a ‘real boy’ with a ‘gay urban hip-hop concept.'”
Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the door. Residents of the 15206 zip code can purchase tickets for $15, and students and artists tickets are available for $10. Purchase tickets at www.kelly-strayhorn.org or call 412-363-3000. Student matinee tickets are just $2.50.
