Sunday, January 15

Join East End Cooperative Ministry, East Liberty Presbyterian Church the Religious Society of Friends and the Pentecostal Temple Church of God in Christ for the 28th Annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration at Temple Sinai (5505 Forbes Ave.). Music begins at 3:30 p.m., and the celebration service starts at 4:00 p.m. Fellowship with refreshments and discussion will follow. Donations of canned goods for the EECM Food Pantry are welcome. Monday, January 16

From 12:00-4:00 p.m., head over to the Kelly Strayhorn Theater (5941 Penn Ave.) for Many Hands, a family-friendly afternoon of activities and performances celebratin the thousands of people who held hands in peace marches during King’s life, and the thousands more who continue to work for change today.

There will be activities from Bike Pittsburgh, CMU’s Hear Me Project, MGR Foundation and the Thomas Merton Center in the KST lobby. At 2:00, enjoy free performances from Alumni Theater Company, Dreams of Hope, Hop Hop on L.O.C.K., InterPlay and Visionary Dance Academy!

At 4:00, there will be a Peace March from KST To Union Project. At Union Project, enjoy a Community Mosaic Project, story telling, and dramatic readings. The Community will come together for a community dinner in the Great Hall at 6:00 p.m.
