Atlanta-based choreographer T. Lang explores cultural traditions and ideas by using big, powerful movements. The six-person ensemble engages in poetic, expressive movements and uses humor to delve into gender expectation issues. T. Lang Dance will showcase excerpts from “Mother/Mutha” which delves deeply into American history, capitalism and power. It is a masterfully-blended story that reveals raw emotions and endurance of African American women.
Philadelphia-based choreographer Megan Mazarick uses humor in movement and text to communicate and connect with ehr audiences about interestng moments in our everyday lives. She is developing “Calvary, Cavalry,” a piece that juxtaposes religion and American Western iconography.
