East Liberty Development is excited to announce a new monthly series, “Community Champions.” These are residents, business owners, or other East Liberty stakeholders who are making a difference in their communities.

Our first Community Champion is Miss Alicia S. Green. ELDI is honoring Miss Green for her community activities and for serving as a role model for young adults through her personal and professional achievements in the community and at Target – East Liberty.

Beginning her employment at Target in july of 2011 as a front end cashier, Miss Green was promoted to Guest Services Assistant after three months in September 2011. The Guest Services Assistant is a management position. Miss Green began her pursuit for employment with Target by formally participating in the neighborhood recruitment process.

She had recently worked for seven years at East End Cooperative Ministry serving children and youth. While at EECM, Miss Green also performed as a professional singer in the group By Faith at area churches and social events. Additionally, she started her own business. Alicia’s Arts provides arts, entertainment, and children’s activities for local, corporate, or non-profit functions. Miss Green can be contacted at BYFAITH52781(at)gmail.com for bookings or additional information about Alicia’s Arts performances and activities.
