The Enright Court Blitz Build, which took place June 24-28th, was a week of commotion and construction as the community came together with the nonprofit DreamBuilders to clean and fix up East Liberty’s Enright Court. Kicking off with an opening ceremony on the morning of the 24th, teams worked from 8 am to 4 pm each day, cleaning, cutting, sanding and doing all that they could to give this long-neglected community a facelift. A community cookout and closing ceremony brought neighbors together to appreciate the work accomplished and discuss how to build on the momentum in the future.

Here are some stats that give you a snapshot of the week’s activities:

There were 25 volunteers 12 adults/13 teens from DreamBuilders.
4 staff and interns from Rebuilding Together Pittsburgh came out to help.
10 volunteers from Enright Court and the neighborhood also participated.
75 people attended the Tuesday night cookout (the weather was perfect!).
9 dumpsters were filled over the course the week.
7 units were worked on simultaneously – a variety of work was completed on these units including cleanout and demo, new doors, windows and siding, new gutters, drywall, and landscaping.
1 beautiful fence was installed at the entrance
Last but not least, the 25 Dreambuilder folks loved Enright Court and Pittsburgh and would like to come back next year!
A big thanks to our partners at DreamBuilders who helped make this event such a success!
