The EECM Community Stress Center was created to improve the well-being of people who live in and around the East End by offering services to reduce stress and maintain physical and mental health. The Community Stress Center is now open every Tuesday and Thursday from 12-4 p.m. in East Liberty Presbyterian Church (116 S. Highland Ave.). Health and wellness screenings will be offered every time the Center is open. Attendees must be 18 years of age or older.

Here’s the Stress Center calendar for April:

  • Thursday 4/14: Free stress and cholesterol screenings, as well as back/hand massages performed by Kate Stoltzfus from 1-3 p.m.
  • Thursday 4/21: Learn about “The What, the Why and the How of Food and Mood” from Paula Martin, MS, RD, LDN. Paula will discuss how stress affects hunger, appetite and weight gain.
  • Thursday 4/28 12-1 p.m.: Brittany Green of the Eastside Neighborhood Employment Center will host an information session about the agency’s services followed by a question and answer session.
