The Highland Park Community Council is hosting a District 7 City Council Seat Candidates Forum Thursday, October 17 from 7:30-9:00 p.m. at the Union Project. All five candidates for Patrick Dowd’s vacated seat will be participating.

The five candidates are:

  • Tony Ceoffe of Lawrenceville
  • Tom Fallon of Morningside
  • Deb Gross of Highland Park
  • David Powell of Morningside
  • James Wudarczyk of Bloomfield

The event will be facilitated by the League of Women Voters of Greater Pittsburgh. Carol Emerson, past president of the League, will be the moderator.

Submit your questions in advance of the event: All District 7 residents may submit questions prior to the event via Twitter (using the hashtag #D7Forum), the HPCC Facebook page or by emailing the HPCC at editor(at)highlandparkpa.com. Questions from the audience attending the event will be submitted in written form on notecards that will be made available to all guests.

The goal of the HPCC is to function in an unbiased and non-partisan manner for all of Highland Park. They strive to have good relationships with all candidates and elected officials, in order to ably serve the community. Per organization bylaws, the HPCC has not and will not be endorsing any candidate for any office in the City of Pittsburgh. Instead, the HPCC prefers to provide a forum for all members and friends in the communities surrounding the Highland Park neighborhood to meet all candidates and develop their own opinions.
