Whole Foods Market Pittsburgh and the Kelly-Strayhorn Theater are hosting a pre-release screening of the inspiring documentary “Fat, Sick & Nearly Dead” Jan. 20th at the KST.
“Fat, Sick & Nearly Dead” follows the story of director & executive producer Cross as he travels across the country drinking only fresh fruit and vegetable juice. Along the way he meets Phil Staples, who begins his own journey to get well. “Fat, Sick & Nearly Dead” has achieved “Best Documentary” awards at both the Sonoma International Film Festival and the Iowa Independent Film Festival.
The event is a fundraiser benefiting the Pennsylvania Association for Sustainable Agriculture. The documentary will premiere at 7 p.m. with a juice tasting reception starting at 6:30. A suggested $10 donation at the door will benefit PASA.
