Pittsburgh Bureau of Fire Fighters from Eight Engine and Truck Company located in East Liberty will host a third annual chili cook-off competition at the East Liberty Farmers’ Market (Penn Circle North at Penn Circle West). The event Monday, September 16 from 3:30-6:00 p.m. is sponsored by Giant Eagle Market District, and proceeds will benefit the Matthew Onyshko Fund (to benefit a firefighter diagnosed with ALS).
At this year’s Pittsburgh Firefighters Chili Cook-Off, it’s EASTSIDE (#8 Engine’s defending championship chili, “Dragon’s Breath”) vs. NORTHSIDE (#32 Engine Spring Garden’s secret recipe).
Visitors to the September 16 Citiparks farmers’ market in East Liberty will have a chance to sample various types of chili for a small donation – and pick up fire safety and prevention information.
