Join Penn State Extension and the Pittsburgh Food Policy Council at the East Liberty CitiParks Farmers Market Monday, August 19 for the 2013 CitiParks Corn Roast! From 5:00-6:00 p.m., Chef Bill Fuller of BIG Burrito Group will be roasting free corn samples provided by local farmers.
The Corn Roast will also feature local musician Elliot Sussman, who will perform throughout the market.
The East Liberty Market is one of seven CitiParks Farmers Markets, and takes place every Monday during the summer from 3:30-7:30 p.m. At the market, customers can shop for a variety of fresh produce, baked goods, meat and dairy products that are fresh, locally produced, nutritious and affordable.
Additionally, customers can use electronic benefit transfer, or EBT, to use SNAP benefits, credit or debit cards at this and several other CitiParks market locations.
