The Bloomfield-Garfield Corporation/Pittsburgh Connects, in partnership with the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh – East Liberty, is proud to offer the following January 2012 trainings:

Microsoft Word Basics (Tuesday, February 14th from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.) Microsoft Word can be used to build resumes; create calendars; design business cards, mailing labels, schedules, budgets, fliers, certificates; and much more. This course will teach you how to justify text, create columns, customize borders, and insert WordArt and pictures.

Resume Writing (Friday, February 17th from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00pm.) A resume is a vital component of every job search. This training, conducted by Walter Fortson (author of Resume Writing Without Paid Work Experience), will teach you how to make your resume as effective as possible.

Microsoft Excel Basics (Tuesday, February 21st from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.) Microsoft Excel uses a grid of cells arranged in numbered rows and letter-named columns to organize data. Excel can be used to manage finances while creating a budget or operate business expenses while keeping inventory. This course will teach you how to work with a spreadsheet, create and manage a budget, and input basic formulas.

Microsoft PowerPoint Basics (Tuesday, February 28th from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.)  Microsoft PowerPoint is a presentation program that is used to  easily create powerful professional presentations. From simple to advanced designs, PowerPoint will provide the tools you need to present any type of information on any subject to any type or size audience.
