Like vogueing, J-setting was first noticed by the mainstream in a pop music video, this time Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It). In their newest work, Private Places, Philadelphia-based dance company idiosynCrazy Productions borrows the explosive, high-powered movement of J-setting, a highly stylized hip hop dance, characterized by sharp movements. Private Places is inspired by the intense emotional management demand placed upon flight attendants, who occupy a very theatrical place within the service industry.
On June 26 and 28 at 7PM service industry employees join the artists at The Alloy Studios to share feedback, stories, and insights on what really happens behind-the-scenes. Sit back, share your two cents, and let us serve you – drink and food provided! At the end of the week idiosynCrazy Productions shares a work-in-progress excerpt ofPrivate Places before the Pittsburgh premiere at KST on December 14 & 15.
Each event is approximately 60 minutes and held at The Alloy Studios, 5530 Penn Ave in Friendship
Tickets $10
