TOMORROW morning at the East Liberty Presbyterian Church: The HELP Initiative in conjunction with Mayor Bill Peduto will proudly announce the formation of the Village Collaborative of East Liberty; a faith-based advocacy group focused on equitable and sustainable community development.
All members of the press and community are invited to join the Mayor, PA State Rep. Ed Gainey, Councilman Rev. Ricky Burgess, Village Collaborative Participants, and other public officials at the media event being held at East Liberty Presbyterian Church at 10 am.
The Mayor has invited City Planning to engage the Village Collaborative participants as well as community residents and stakeholders in city-funded strategic investment planning for East Liberty. Several innovative projects are poised as components of the next stage of development in East Liberty. These projects are part of a broader effort to bring a significant number of additional affordable housing units to the East Liberty area.
Officials will share information regarding several development projects, as well as the announcement of a URA development RFP. Local developers, such as Mellon’s Orchard Investment Partners (MOIP), will be on hand to address questions about their project.
