Mike’s Auto Body and Vocational Center, once a dream of owner Mike Fiore, became a reality on Thursday, Sept. 30 with the site’s official opening.
The $1.8 million investment in the shop on Meadow Street in Larimer will bring employment and education to the entire East End. Aspiring mechanics will receive certification training through classroom and hands-on experiences.
Mr. Fiore’s shop has been in Larimer for 40 years, and hopes that the new 14,500-square-foot facility will employ 10 full-time workers and graduate 36 new mechanics per year.
