Tuesday August 7th is National Night Out, an event created to deter crime by emphasising the importance of a unitied, responsible community. Neighborhoods across the city are participating this week by coordinating block parties, socializing on their porches and leaving their outdoor lights on.

These simple things can go a long way. By making residents feel more comfortable in their neighborhoods and encouraging them to spend more time on their porches, this offers a sense of security through visibility.

Please support National Night Out in East Liberty by leaving your lights on and spending time on your porch at night tomorrow (and more often in the future!)
