With the approval of the new Trek Development project, 37 new units of affordable housing will be built in East Liberty.
“A press release from the Mayor’s office notes that former residents of the Penn Plaza development, who were displaced in 2015, will be given priority for occupancy in Mellon’s Orchard South. In addition, the local nonprofit Coalition of Organized Residents of East Liberty will be consulting on the design.”
>> Nearby in other parts of East Liberty, Larimer and Garfield, we at East Liberty Development Inc. are planning to construct six new homes and rehabilitate 20 homes. Of the 26 total homes, 17 will be sold to low-income families.
We will be working with several small but high-quality contractors from around the area to perform the work. Read more in the Mayor’s office’s press release.
