We are no strangers to change at ELDI. Since our founding in 1979, we’ve been committed to transforming the neighborhood according to the community’s vision, and we’re pleased to have stewarded East Liberty into the thriving, mixed-income community it is today. Over these forty-some years, we’ve also done our fair share of moving within the East Liberty commercial core to help support the renovation of vacant and/or under-utilized commercial buildings.
ELDI’s initial office in 1979 was in the Highland Building, which at that time was a general office and medical office building. Other office locations have included the Penn Highland Building, the Liberty Bank Building (6101 Penn Avenue), and 100 N. Sheridan Avenue (two times—once on the second floor and most recently on the fourth).
Changes are in store for us again! As of April 1st, we are now located in the new 211 Tower (the former Medical East Building). While our new space is a bit smaller, the recently renovated office building has great amenities like a roof deck and plans for a ground floor restaurant with outdoor seating. And with our partner Catapult Greater Pittsburgh moving into our old Sheridan Ave digs, we’re happy we can still stop by for a visit anytime we want.
