A 42-unit apartment complex will soon take shape on an empty lot at Station and North Beatty Streets in East Liberty. Nine of the units will rent for market-rate and the rest will be affordable, using a tiered system based on income levels.

Harvard Beatty Housing is the second phase of Trek Development’s plans for the lot. Mellon’s Orchard South Apartments were completed late last year, and Trek has been working with the Penn Plaza Support and Action Coalition to help former Penn Plaza residents find new homes in both of the developments.
