Visit Kelly-Strayhorn Theater this Saturday at 8 p.m. for the NEXT STAGE Dance Residency Showcase! Designed to encourage risk-taking and innovation, NEXT STAGE is a work-in-progress showing of choreography developed during the past five days.

Three choreographers were selected from over 30 applicants to have a week-long residency at KST. At the end of the week, audience members are invited to view their developing work, and provide feedback and engage in discussion with the choreographers.

This year’s choreographers are Jamie Erin Murphy, Renee Danielle Smith and Lauri Stallings. Past residents include Kyle Abraham, who developed Bessie-winning “The Radio Show”, and Sidra Bell, who developed “REVUE” in January 2010 and returned to perform at Kelly-Strayhorn Theater in October 2010.

Tickets are $20 in advance or at the door, and $10 for artists, 15206 residents and students.
